If a Genie Popped Out of My Lamp, I’d Probably Waste All Three Wishes

You have three magic genie wishes, what are you asking for?

That awkward moment when unlimited cosmic power meets my very limited ability to think under pressure

So a genie appears. Actual genie. Smoke, lamp, the whole deal. I have THREE WISHES. Three chances to fix literally everything wrong with my life, the world, humanity itself.

And what’s the first thing that comes out of my mouth?

“I wish my phone charger would reach my bed.”

I KNOW. I panicked! The genie’s there, all intimidating and immortal, waiting for my response, and suddenly my brain decides THIS is the moment to address the nightly gymnastics routine I do trying to charge my phone while lying down. The genie looks disappointed. I’m disappointed in myself. But honestly? Game changer.

Okay, wish two. I’ve had time to think now. I can do better. Something meaningful. Something that matters.
“I wish people would stop asking me ‘how was your weekend’ on Monday mornings when we BOTH know neither of us cares.”

The genie actually laughs at this one. It’s a sad, pitying laugh, but I’ll take it. He snaps his fingers. Suddenly the world is filled with authentic Monday morning silence. It’s beautiful. No more performative small talk. No more lying about how I “didn’t do much, just relaxed” when really I spiraled into an existential crisis at 2 AM watching a documentary about octopuses.

One wish left. This is it. My final chance. I can feel the weight of responsibility crushing me. World peace? End hunger? Fix climate change? The genie leans in, ready for something profound.
“I wish I could remember why I walked into a room.”
The genie just vanishes. Doesn’t even grant it. He’s had enough of me. Honestly, fair.
